Lokoja Council Chairman advocates opening alternative road into FUL to stem incessant carnage on Federal Highway in Felele.
The Council Chairman, Lokoja LGA, Comr Abdullahi Adamu, has called for the opening of an alternative road into the Federal University Lokoja.
The Council Chairman made the call while reacting to the fatal incident that claimed lives of students of Federal University Lokoja, said opening the inner access road into the Felele Campus of the University Campus.
The Chairman said there is no law that can ban trailers plying the road by day as is being suggested by many people, urged the University to create new access road and gate along the Agbaja road into the School by Bakomba.
This measure the Chairman pointed out of creating and opening the new road will completely do away with the Felele/ Crusher route.
The Chairman lamented the death of the students and others involved in the accident said with the alternative road, the felele bound shuttle will do away with the University main gate and crusher/Felele route, enter and exit the campus through Felele Junction, thus freeing them from the articulated trucks on the Highway.
