A Socio Cultural Group, Edo National Voice, ENV, has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), in Edo to reverse their decision of picking Rita Ebiuwa Ogiamen as their candidate for the forthcoming Edo State Local Government Council Elections.
The elections is billed to take place across the 18 Local Government Area of Edo state.
The group in a release in Benin and signed by
Iyamu Osaro Culture- President ,Comrade Collins Osaghae Amadin-Secretary General , Lolo Emmanuel Usoh BOT Chairman and Osahon Okoro-Obaraye- Director of Operation and Strategy said “it is no longer news that the People Democratic Party in Edo State have given the Oredo Council Vice Chairmanship position to Enemy of our revered Throne, Rita Ebiuwa Ogaimen”.
In the release titled “Why Enemy of our revered Throne, Rita Ebiuwa Ogaimen can’t be selected, appointed or elected as Oredo Council Vice Chairman” , said we are calling on the State leadership of People Democratic Party, Governor Obaseki and other PDP Stakeholders in Oredo Local Government Area to review her nomination and immediately replace her with other party loyalist who is not enemy of our revered Throne and Benin Kingdom.
The group noted that failure to adhere to the advise will meet with stiff resistance.
“We want to unequivocally state that Rita Ebiuwa Ogaimen whose sacrilegious actions against our revered Throne and Benin Kingdom is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf can’t be holding such sensitive position where our revered Throne is seated”,it said.
According to them, “As the uncompromised defendants of our rich culture, costume, tradition and heritage we will not allow such a person to hold such important office in our reverend kingdom”,it concluded.
When contacted on the said allegations, Rita Ogiamen ,denied ever doing anything sacrilegious against the revered Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare 11 or Benin kingdom.
“As a Benin daughter I will not be part of those that will do anything that will not respect our tradition “she stated.
