The Permanent Member Representing Kogi East Senatorial District on the Board of the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Hon. Nana-Aisha Abu Ali,
has sent a message of appreciation to Gov Yahaya Bello for taking
cognizance of her enormous efforts at enlightening and sensitizing members of the Public on the existence and activities of the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.

Hon. Nana-Aisha Abu Ali it would be recalled was issued a letter of commendation as directed by Gov. Yahaya Bello after the 2nd Executive Council meeting of year 2022 held on the 20th day of July for hardwork.

 

During one of her Advocacy

Gov. Bello in the letter commended the Permanent Member her for her efforts at enlightening and sensitizing members of the public on the existence and activities of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.

 

 

The letter of commendation signed by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Ayoade Arike, stated that the “Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bello delightfully took cognizance of your enormous efforts at enlightening and sensitizing members of the Public on the existence and activities of the Kogi State Health insurance Agency”.

Hon. Nana-Aisha Abu in a message thanked Gov. Bello for appreciating her said the commendation would spur her to do more in the discharge of her duties.

 

” I was astonished when it was announced that you shared about my contributions on the activities of KOGI STATE INSURANCE AGENCY at the 2nd EXCO meeting of year 2022 which held on 20/07/23.

Speaking with the Nigerianpost, Hon. Nana-Aisha said
Gov. Yahaya Bello’s effort in ensuring health care coverage for everyone through the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency laid a foundation of comprehensive and longitudinal primary care known as BELLO CARE.

BELLO CARE she explained covers the following five (5) vulnerable groups of people:-

1. Pregnant woman
2. Children between 0 – 5 years of age
3. People living with disabilities
4. Elderly people
5. Poorest of the poor

The Permanent Member added that BELLO CARE affords the following services-
1. General Consultations (treatment of such diseases as Malaria, Typhoid Fever, etc)

10. Ultrasound Scan

11. Laboratory Services

12. Orthopedic Care

13. Physiotherapy Services

14. Skin Care Services

15. Primary Mental Care

16. Internal Medicine (management of hypertension, diabetes, peptic ulcer, asthma and other chronic diseases.

She disclosed that towards ensuring that all citizens of the State have affordable health care coverage that provides a defined set of essential health benefits, said it has become necessary to move towards a healthier and more productive society using the health insurance system.

While pointing out that
ENROLLMENT OF BENEFICIARIES OF BELLO CARE HAS COMMENCED IN THE 21 LGAs OF KOGI STATE said she started going round with Enrollment Officers towards ensuring a successful and effective exercise in the Eastern Senatorial District.

She expressed satisfaction with the turn out of beneficiaries and responses from Royal Fathers, especially the Attah of Igala, His Royal Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, which she described as highly commendable.

The Permanent Member maintained that any successful health system reform designed to achieve health care coverage for all must re-emphasize the centrality of primary care, reinvigorate the primary care infrastructure and redesign the manner of primary care delivery and payment.

All these she explained informed Gov. Yahaya Bello’s concerted effort in ensuring lasting solutions to the health care challenges in not just Kogi State but Nigeria and Africa at large.

The Permanent Member said Gov. Bello’s health care intervention program is very glaring looking at the Multibillion Naira, State of the Art Reference Hospital in Okene which is at 95% completion stage and the upgrading of the following health facilities- Lokoja Specialist Hospital, Prince Abubakar Audu Teaching Hospital Anyigba, Zonal Hospitals in the 3 Senatorial Districts and General Hospitals across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State with the most modern hospital equipment.

She expressed optimism that with the Governor’s intervention in the health sector of the State, there will be more medical tourism nor excuses for any Government official to go seeking for medical treatment outside Nigeria.

According to the Permanent Member ” Our Hero GYB’s giant strides in the Health Sector is already yielding gainful results as he recently received a delegation of investors from the State of Delaware, United STATES of American who are in the state to partner with the government in health sector investment. The Pharmaceutical Company, SIVAD which will supply products to other states of the federation will be established in Kogi State owing to its strategic location, security and manpower, thanked Gov Bello for the commendation, promised to do more.
