Leke Abejide Set To Contest Kogi Governorship


 

The Honourable member representing Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro Federal constituency has recently announced his intention to purchase the ADC governorship nomination form as he gears up to join the race for the Kogi state governorship election scheduled for 11th November 2023.

This development comes after a clarion call by Kogites who urged the House of Representatives member to contest in the coming gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued by Abejide’s media aide, it was revealed that the decision to express interest in the governorship position and obtain the nomination form was a collective decision made by many Kogites who had been impressed by Hon. Abejide’s scorecard in the last four years, both in Yagba and across Okunland.

The journey to liberate the people of Kogi state and deliver the state to the people will officially begin as Hon. Abejide will be picking up his governorship form on Monday, 27th March 2023 by 11 am prompt at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. This announcement has been received with enthusiasm by his supporters who believe that Hon. Abejide is the right candidate to lead Kogi state forward.

Addressing NAN today in Abuja, Chief David Dare Olatunde, the Director General of Asiwaju Confluence Campaign Organization ACCO, revealed that the decision for Hon. Leke to pick the ADC Governorship form was a product of deep consultation and several meetings with stakeholders from Kogi East, Kogi West, and Central. He described Leke as a man with vision that can turn the fortunes of Kogi State around.

Chief David Dare Olatunde expressed optimism that Leke Abejide would perform excellently well if elected as governor. He drew the attention of the people of Kogi to Leke’s performance before and as a member representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, highlighting his achievements in areas such as youth empowerment, employments of constituents into Federal Government Agencies and Parastatals, payment of WAEC Fees, provision of Health care facilities, Provision of Portable Water, Construction and Rehabilitation of Roads etc.

Chief David Dare Olatunde who also is the Mayegun of Isanlu asked all those interested in running for the Kogi Number one seat to show their scorecard so far.

“We implore our party stakeholders, leaders, and members, in Abuja to join Hon. Leke Abejide as he picks his governorship nomination form,” he added.
