As each day, thousands of people need donated blood and blood products to keep them in good health or allow them to stay alive.
In line with the declaration of Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, the Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), assurance to the National Blood Service Commission (NBSC) of the active engagement of Corp members in the nation wide safe blood donation advocacy.
The State Coordinator, NYSC Kogi, Pst. Mrs Mofoluwaso Williams has earlier today donated blood to the National Blood Service Commission (NBSC) with Corps members of the 2021 Batch C stream |, at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Asaya, Kogi state.
The service has begun its engagement with the set of Corps members who were recently mobilised and sworn in for the service year of October 2021.
As a proactive agency of the Federal Government, the NYSC since its last meeting with the NBTS in 2020, has commenced public sensitisation on safe blood donation.
The NYSC Kogi led by Mrs Williams has immediately captured the organisation as one of the scheme that will educate and sensitise Corps members during the orientation course which will bolster the efforts to further improve the level of blood donation across the country.
With the quick response from Pst. Mrs Mofoluwaso Williams, she has indeed shown example and a model for young leadership evident among her peers.
As a humanitarian, she has also succeeded in donating blood numerous times. This is tantamount to potentially saving the lives of over 60 persons who may desperately be in need of transfusion.
Mrs Williams is a kind of person Nigeria should advocate for as tools for Community, State and National Development. This energetic woman of substance is ‘imminently qualify’ in all ramifications to form a block of emerging leaders in the nation leading the NYSC Kogi.
