The Chairperson, Kogi NGO Network, (KONGONET) Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina has been given an award by the Nigeria Post newspaper for promoting Cordial Government/ CSOs Cordial Working Relationship in Kogi State”.

Amb. Muraina was honoured at the 2024 Nigeria Post newspaper lecture and awards to mark 33 years of the creation of Kogi State with the theme “sustaining Kogi’s unbroken unity, prospects and possibilities, this house must not fall”.

The award according to the Publisher of the Nigeria Post newspaper Mike Abu is in view of Amb. Muraina contributions and positive impacts to the State as the Chairman, Kogi State NGO Network.

Amb. Muraina is a distinguished community development practitioner whose extensive experience and transformative leadership skills have significantly impacted Kogi State and beyond.

As the current Chairperson of the Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET) and Co-Chair of the Non-State Actors (NSA) at the Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP), he exemplifies commitment to civic engagement and governance.

With over 15 years in the social development field, Amb. Muraina possesses a wealth of expertise in legislative advocacy, field research, and capacity building. His role as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) underscores his dedication to integrity and transparency in governance.

Amb. Muraina is a trained nutritionist with a strong academic foundation in biochemistry. His skills extend to planning, monitoring, and appraising project contributions, ensuring that necessary adjustments are made to enhance productivity effectively.

He is adept in maintaining project deliverables, budgeting, and updating stakeholders with crucial project information.

As the Executive Director and founder of the Renaissance Care and Empowerment Foundation (RECEF), he has been instrumental in planning and implementing community-based projects.

His dynamic approach combines democratic leadership with exceptional communication and facilitation skills, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Amb. Muraina embodies transformational leadership, characterized by his ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals. His strengths in influencing and facilitation have enabled him to effectively coach and train employees, preparing them to excel in their roles.

Under his stewardship, KONGONET has flourished, becoming a pivotal platform for NGOs in Kogi State, while the OGP platform has benefited from his strategic insights as Co-Chair.
