The President of Kogi Youth Alliance Comrade Temitope Olufemi Daniel has raised serious concern about the incessant greed lock on the ever-busy Lokoja, Obajana Kabba highway.
The Comrade decried untold hardship currently being experienced by drivers and commuters on the highway, calling on Federal Road Maintenance Agency FEMA, Dangote Groups, and Kogi State Government to Urgently address all issues preventing the easy flow of traffic on the highway.
While lamenting that he recently spent over seven hours stranded in a spot on the highway, Comrade Temitope decried that so many productive hours are often wasted on the road with unquantifiable losses being recorded.
Comrade Olufemi Stated that speedy interventions are required to fix the bad portions of the road especially the numerous deep potholes between the Lokoja Zairiagi axis to Obajana/ Kabba Junction in which several articulated vehicles often breakdown at those spots.
He also frowned at very poor traffic control and management on the highway especially at the junction which requires urgent attention with lasting solutions.
Comrade Temitope, therefore, appealed to Relevant Government agencies and management of Dangote Cement Factory Obajana to urgently swift into action and addresses the reoccurring greed lock on the highway to prevent further road mishaps, loss of lives and properties which is gradually becoming a regular thing on the road.
It could be recalled that hundreds of travelers during the recent Yuletide festivities season spent several days hooked up on the highway with varying degrees of losses ranging from time, properties, and lives.
