KOGI PDP MOURNS DEMISE OF FORMER DELTA GOVERNOR EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN

…Gambo Describes Him As A Gentle Statesman Whose Service Will Be Remembered_

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has received with deep shock and profound sadness the news of the passing of former Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who departed this world on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 71.

In a condolence message issued in Lokoja, the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo, on behalf of the State Working Committee, leaders, elders and the entire PDP family in Kogi State, commiserated with the Uduaghan family, the Government and people of Delta State, and the national leadership of our great party.

Hon. Gambo described the late former Governor as a gentle, humane and highly cerebral statesman who served Delta State with uncommon dedication and left behind enduring legacies in healthcare, infrastructure and human capital development.

He noted that Dr. Uduaghan, who served as Commissioner for Health from 1999 to 2003 and Secretary to the State Government from 2003 to 2007 before serving as Governor from 2007 to 2015, was a loyal party man who believed in service above self and contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the PDP.

According to him, the death of Dr. Uduaghan, just three days to his 72nd birthday, is not only a huge loss to his immediate family and Delta State, but to the entire PDP family and Nigeria at large.

“The late Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan was a doctor who healed not just with medicine but with good governance. He was a quiet achiever, a bridge builder and a father figure whose legacies will remain indelible. We mourn his exit at a time his wise counsel is still needed in our polity,” Hon. Gambo stated.

The Kogi State PDP Chairman prayed Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings, grant his soul eternal rest and give his family, led by Toju Anire Uduaghan, the people of Delta State and the PDP the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

He added that the Kogi PDP stands in solidarity with the Delta State Chapter of the party and the Uduaghan family in this moment of grief.

Signed:

Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo
State Chairman,
Peoples Democratic Party, Kogi State.
