Kogi Works Commissioner, Dedicates Fellowship Rank to Gov. Yahaya Bello


 

The Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere FNSE, has dedicated the Fellowship Grade, the highest rank, conferred on him by the Nigerian Society of Engineers to Gov. Yahaya Bello.

The State Commissioner for Works & Housing, Engr. Abubakar S. Ohere FNSE, was yesterday officially conferred the Honor of FELLOW, NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS at the NSE’s 5th College of Fellows Roundtable Symposium and 16th Fellowship Conferment Lecture & Ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Engr Ohere while Speaking with THENIGERIANPOST, said after God Almighty, his appreciation goes to his leader, Gov. Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to showcase the qualities that brought him to limelight, said the Governor gave him the opportunity that exposed him quickly and speedily to limelight.

In the words of the Commissioner, ” I wholeheartedly after God Almighty dedicate my rise to the fellowship grade of the Engineering Profession to Gov. Yahaya Bello for giving me the opportunity to make people to see my potentials. My prayers for him is for God to continue to bless him and promote him in his Political and other endeavors”.

The Commissioner disclosed that his elevation to the highest rank of a General in the Engineering Profession came by dint of hardwork, however appreciated God that out of the Several thousand practicing the Engineering Profession, he was recognized for making impact in the society’.

The Fellowship Grade of the NSE Engr. Ohere explained puts you in the position of a ” GENERAL “, Managing men and resources in the field of Engineering, says the honour which is a symbol of pride to the Engineering Profession because of ones impact, research work, problems solved, assured that it would further spur him to do more for the society’.

Engr Ohere added that his elevation would further challenge him to be more conscious and committed, appreciated God for making him to grow from strength to strength and to be elevated as a Fellow, occasioned by his positive Engineering contributions to the society’.

The Commissioner for Works and Housing further explained that the elevation came judging by his track records by the Engineering Profession, pointed out that the new status put him in a position to easily coordinate all engineering activities as an accredited manager towards ensuring the success of engineering projects in the state.

Engr. Ohere holds a Master Degree in Mining Engineering (M. Eng); Surface Mining Engineering Option from the Federal University of Technology, Akure where he presently has Master Degree

Engr. Ohere, is a prolific researcher has attended several workshops in the United States, Poland, Ghana, Australia, China and Nigeria.

Engineer Ohere has presented many scholarly and well-researched paper in different fora. These includes: Feasibility Study Report on the technical requirements/cost for the setting up of a small scale sized Mining and granite quarrying ( capacity 80 -120 tons per hour) in Nigeria, presented to the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria ( COREN ) at Merit House, Abuja in 2013.

Earlier in 2012, Engineer Ohere presented a paper in Perth Australia titled “Nigeria Mineral Potential and Coal Resources Development” and several others.

He is a registered member of professional bodies like Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigerian (COREN), R.27,382, Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and   Geoscientists (COMEG) GEM00082,   Corporate Member Nigerian Society   of Mining Engineers (NSME). M-20150534, Corporate Member Nigerian Mining andGeosciences   Society   (NMGS) C-06-3156 and   Corporate Member International Society of Explosive Engineers (ISEE), 2014.

Engineer Ohere secured pensionable appointment with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development shortly after the mandatory National Youth Service Corps in 1993.
