Leadership according to Hon Sunday Karimi , is the combination of excellent character, proven knowledge and accurate implementation of what needs to be done. To him, Leadership is to live for a purpose or to achieve set goals for the good of the people (who are often the reason for any leadership). There is no leadership if there is no beneficiary.
Leadership comes with the ability to provide what has not existed before or improve on something that already exists. It is the ability to teach others how things should be done, by positively influencing them.
To Honourable Sunday Karimi , leadership revolves around the good deeds that others can emulate. Leadership is the ability to think less of oneself and refusal to pursue selfish agenda where others are involved. It is to build character, achieve a reputation and demonstrate good intentions which guarantee the eventual good and comfort of others.
Leadership to Hon Sunday Karimi , is to discern situational needs and meet them appropriately, i.e. having the ability to find solutions to challenges. It is being available and accessible to provide services and meet the expectations of other people. Leadership is the decision to achieve positive outcomes.
Honourable Sunday Karimi maintains that leadership is the ability to reverse a negative situation for good or provide answer to a difficult puzzle. To him, Leadership motivates and mobilizes people to perform a task. Hon. Sunday Karimi argues that Leadership, is an ability to guide a team to complete an assignment. He sees leadership as the aftermath of good choice made, a project that is well implemented and decisions prudently taken, which add visible value to humanity.

A leader, who feels bigger and better than the people he leads, cannot truly serve. Where the people are not well served, leadership has failed. Again, where a leader does not serve his followers, he has taken away the ingredients of leadership. Leadership emphasizes service, sacrifice and commitment to a purpose, goal or change. It is not prompted by personal benefit, but by the passion to meet collective societal needs.

Leadership therefore, is basically about what we are doing to affect the society positively, and not necessarily what we theorize. Honourable Sunday Karimi insists that where leadership is effective, poverty and unemployment is drastically reduced, and the suffering and frustration of the people becomes a thing of the past; public infrastructure and utilities are functional, and there is full support for education and creativity, which is the bedrock of every society’s development and relevance.
Honourable Sunday Karimi believes that through effective leadership, corruption is curbed, and strife, restiveness and other criminal tendencies are minimized. For when true and honest leadership exist in a nation, national identity and patriotism becomes evident in the lives of the citizens. Leadership can be likened to a three; it does not eat of its own fruits.
Leadership to Honourable Sunday Karimi entails the ability to give. Leaders give and not take from their subjects. A leader, who takes from the people he is meant to give, soon loses his right to lead them.
To Sunday Karimi , a true leader is one who is desirous of carrying the burden of others. He is one who values and consider others. A true leader is one whose activities and influence adds extra-ordinary beauty to the position he occupies.
Hon Sunday Karimi believes that a true leader is one who will Gladly give up his personal interest, luxury, ambition and expectation to embrace the aspiration and concerns of the people he is leading. He sees a true leader as one who is humble, dedicated, thoughtful, tolerant, friendly, dutiful, respectful and considerate. He listens and understands other people’s worries and is committed to their welfare.
A true leader is not selfish and will not hold back what belongs to others or divert public funds. This is because he will naturally prefer to maintain his integrity and personality at all times and in every situation. Hon Sunday Karimi believes that a true leader is one who maintains a high level of accountability; he lives under strict discipline and self control for societal impact.
A true leader, is by the expectation of the people he is leading, a ‘dependable person’, he is one who gains the followers’ trust because he can be trusted. A honest leader must be diplomatic enough, not to take things personal. He is sensible and flexible in taking decisions, but does not compromise justice, values, standards and excellence. Hon Sunday Karimi believes that a true leader Sees his position as a call to service and an avenue to explore his potentials as well as a means of helping others become physically, mentally and morally motivated.
According to Hon Sunday Karimi , a true leader is one who understands that to be a leader is not to create a gap between him and the others, but to explore relationship for the collective progress of all stakeholders. To him, a true leader is one who understands that leadership is not a one-man affair or should be left in the hands of a selected few, but rather a rallying point around which everything and everyone’s interest revolves, and are protected.
A leader is one who tolerates other people’s shortcomings without being offended. Hon Sunday Karimi see a leader as one who does not attach sentiment or emotions to his dealings with issues that bother on governance. He is a friend to all and even to his perceived enemies; he treats everybody like himself. A leader is one who does not emerge by chance; he evolves out of personal determination and conviction to pay a price, which automatically gives him the people’s mandate.
A leader is one who possesses a good pedigree that other people cannot ignore or question. A leader is one who takes responsibility; he is one who has passion for service and has the ability to manage others.
Hon Sunday Karimi believes that leadership is earned because a leader can only lead when he has something tangible to offer the people; having convinced his followers that he has the capacity to lead them. Leadership obtained by force or through the backdoor cannot produce popular satisfaction.
To Honourable Sunday Karimi , a leader who ignores the most important of his responsibilities for personal aggrandizement in the midst of a hungry masses makes a mockery of leadership and sow the seed of crisis and violence in the society.
