By joshua 2027 Polls: No Less Than Overwhelming Victory Expected in Ward A – APC Chairman, Hon. Shaibu Yakubu Declares
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward A, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, has declared its resolve to secure an overwhelming victory in the forthcoming general elections.
The Ward Chairman, Hon. Shaibu Yakubu, made the declaration on Thursday during an enlarged meeting of the Ward Executives, political appointees and a cross-section of critical stakeholders held in Lokoja.
According to Hon. Yakubu, elections are not won on election day, but long before election day, hence the need for early, strategic and grassroots-focused preparations.
He charged members of the APC in Ward A to work with one common mindset, with victory as their cardinal priority.
Describing the October Local Government Council election as a litmus test ahead of the general elections, the Chairman noted that Ward A remains the largest Ward in Lokoja LGA with 100 polling units and 53,000 registered voters, expressing optimism that the party will achieve a clean sweep in all forthcoming elections.
He urged appointees and stakeholders to change the narrative of previous election results in the Ward by tripling the votes recorded in 2023, stressing that the target is possible and achievable.
Hon. Yakubu further called on members to commence early grassroots mobilization and to reach out to every household, while cautioning against complacency and anti-party activities. He enjoined members to keep faith with the party and remain steadfast.
Describing the APC as a party that is genuinely committed to the progress of Nigeria and Kogi State, he said the party’s current reward system is encouraging and all-inclusive, adding that opposition political parties have nothing to offer. He described Ward A as the home of the APC.
He declared that the Ward APC is resolved to support President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo as well as other APC Candidates in all the forthcoming general elections.
A high point of the meeting was the official presentation of *Hon. Mohammed N. Tenimu*, Special Adviser on Community and Social Development, as the new Stakeholders’ Chairman for Ward A. Hon. Yakubu disclosed that his emergence was through a consensus of opinion by leaders of the Ward.
In his acceptance remarks, the new Stakeholders’ Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Tenimu, promised to provide an inclusive leadership that is open to suggestions and constructive engagement. He said his topmost priority is to deliver overwhelming victory for the APC in all elections.
He extended a hand of fellowship to all members of the Ward to join hands in building a virile, united and formidable APC that will be the envy of other Wards in Lokoja LGA.
The stakeholders also unanimously accepted and ratified the recommendation of the Ward A NG-CARES Programme Committee, describing its distribution formula as equitable, encompassing and people-oriented.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by all present to work tirelessly for the success of the APC at all levels.
