The Hon. Sunday Karimi Campaign Organization says the Kogi West Senatorial District Election held on 25th February, 2023 was free, fair and credible, said the election was clearly won with landslide by the Senator Elect, Hon. Sunday Karimi.
The Campaign Organization in a Statement signed by Barrister David Shola Ayedogbon (Charvid), the Director General Campaign, made the disclosure while reacting to a media report by a group, Kogi West Development Front (KWDF), alleging manipulation of the outcome of February 25 senatorial election in the zone, asked the group to toe the path of honor just like, Alhaji Hassan Salau, the Director General Campaign of Tee Jay Yusuf did, by accepting and calling to congratulate Hon. Karimi in the first instance and not to over heat the polity afterwards.
The Karimi Campaign Organization berated the statement signed by Lukman Muhammadu and Victor Emmanuel, president and secretary general respectively, for alleging manipulation against the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Paul Tajudeen Yusuf, described the claims as spurious, mischievous that cannot substantiated.
The Karimi Campaign Organization insisted that the outcome of the senatorial election was a reflection of the wishes of the people of Kogi West, said aside the people overwhelming votes from Yagba owing to the turn that it was for Yagba, said the election was massively won in Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency because of the solid presence of the APC and the lackluster performance of the PDP candidate in representation, described the over 40,000 votes from Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency as the thunderbolt that nailed the coffin of the PDP in the Senatorial District election.
While urging that rather than making unsubstantiated claims on the media without proof, lamented that the group went about chasing shadows by alledging officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for failing to use Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines in many parts of the senatorial zone, in an election adjudged by domestic and National observers as the most freest conducted ever in history in the zone.
The APC Campaign Organization urged the PDP and it sponsored groups to accept the verdict of the outcome as sportsmen, join hands with the APC Senator Elect in building a virile Kogi West Senatorial District where the quality representation of Hon. Sunday Karimi is set to usher in the much desired progress and development.
The Karimi Campaign Organization praised the conduct of the Kogi West Senatorial District Election, particularly expressed appreciation that it was an election that was devoid of violence, with the BVAS machine said to have performed optimally in all the polling units across the district.
The Karimi Campaign Organization urged for caution, called on the Security Agencies to hold Hon. Tee Jay Yusuf responsible for any breakdown of law and order, pointing out that in the words of the
Kogi West Development Front (KWDF), disclosed that Teejay Yusuf and his associates are the one counseling youth to peacefully await Judicial review of the manipulated electoral process.
The Sunday Karimi Campaign Organization is therefore urging that rather than resort to violence, urged that they toe the path of honor, seek legal redress, described as laughable the assumption by the group that Teejay Yusuf the PDP candidate will get justice in the election petition tribunal, described such optimism as the figment of the imagination of mischief makers who are counting their eggs before it is hatched.
The Karimi Campaign Organization says it is ready to meet at the PDP Flagbearer at the Tribunal, maintaining that the election freely won by Hon. Sunday Karimi was adjudged by all stakeholders and observers to have met all the maximum democratic standard in the conduct of election for him to have been declared winner.
