COMMISSIONER CONDOLES MAYAKI OF KUPA, COMMUNITY OVER ATTACK
The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, has commiserated with the Mayaki of Kupa and the entire people of Kupa Community in Kogi Local Government Area over the recent violence that claimed some innocent lives and left several others injured.
In a condolence message issued on Friday, Engr. Farouk described the incident as painful and unfortunate, saying the attack was not only on Kupa but on the peace and unity of the state.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of those who lost their lives, grant them Aljanatul Firdaus, and give their families and the community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He also prayed for the swift healing and complete restoration of those currently receiving treatment.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire Ministry of Water Resources, I extend our heartfelt condolences to His Royal Highness, the Mayaki of Kupa, the bereaved families, and the good people of Kupa over this tragic incident,” the Commissioner said.
Engr. Farouk assured the people that under the purposeful and security-conscious leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, every necessary step is being taken to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and that such incidents do not recur.
He expressed confidence that with the determination and commitment of the present administration, working with security agencies and community leaders, the issues of insecurity will be defeated and lasting peace will be restored in Kupa and across Kogi State.
The Commissioner further called on the people of Kupa to remain calm and united, urging them to continue to support government efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and property while promoting peaceful coexistence.
He concluded by praying that Allah would continue to protect Kupa, heal the land, and restore the peace and harmony for which the community is known.
