The Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) has recorded two major breakthroughs in its onslaught against vandalism and highway robbery in the state, with the arrest of two notorious suspects in Anyigba and along the Okene-Zariagi-Obajana corridor.

In a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Idris S. Idris, the Service disclosed that the arrests were made following credible intelligence and technological surveillance.

According to the statement, on 24th October, 2026, at about 2100hrs, operatives of the KSVS attached to Sector B Command, acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested one Mr. Jonathan Sunday, 39 years, of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.

Jonathan was caught red-handed by the operatives while harvesting vandalized equipment from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Anyigba Sub-station. The statement noted that the suspect has confessed to having been stealing from the facility for a while.

In a related development, operatives of the Service, while on monitoring of the ongoing airport construction site through a technological intelligence drive, arrested one Mr. Salihu Adams, 26 years, of Zariagi, Kabba Junction.

Salihu Adams, according to the KSVS, has confessed to being a member of a syndicate notorious for vandalizing construction sites and robbing heavy-duty trucks along the Okene-Zariagi-Obajana highways.

Reacting to the feat, the Comptroller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Alh. Ibrahim Usman Anataku, heaped encomium on his personnel for their gallantry and assured them of continued support.

He expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his tireless support and encouragement to the Service.

The Comptroller-General further appealed to members of the public to assist security agencies with timely and actionable security intelligence, assuring them of strict confidentiality of both the information and the informant.

The suspects are expected to be handed over to relevant security agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
