Kogi Ulama’u Council Backs New NAHCON Boss, Calls Appointment ‘Historic’
The Kogi State Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria has pledged support for the new Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Ambassador Ismail Abbah Yusuf, describing his appointment as “meritorious and spiritually-based.”
A delegation led by the Council Chairman, Sheikh Salman Adam Imam, visited the NAHCON boss in Abuja to congratulate him and offer prayers for his tenure.
The Council said Yusuf’s appointment reflects “distinguished career, unwavering commitment to administrative excellence and positive contributions to ethical development.” It noted that he is the first indigene of Kogi and the North Central zone to head the Commission since it was established about 27 years ago.
“We congratulate the entire Muslim Ummah, the people of North Central and Kogi State in particular for this enviable appointment,” the Council stated.
The group thanked President Bola Tinubu for the appointment and expressed confidence that Yusuf’s “wealth of experience, wisdom and vision” would reposition NAHCON and restore its image.
The Council urged the Commission’s management, staff, and the wider Muslim community to support the new chairman to “reposition the Commission, surmount its challenges and revamp its lost glory.”
Sheikh Salman presented a letter of congratulations during the visit.
In his response, Ambassador Yusuf expressed “deep joy and appreciation” for the visit. He assured the delegation of his commitment to make the Commission “far more successful beyond the expectations of all.”
The visit ended with prayers for the Chairman and the Commission.
