The Commencement of the payment of bursary and scholarship to undergraduate and Law students of Kogi State origin by Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, has been described as yet another giant stride in the Educational Sector of the State.
The feat by the Governor, Comr. Jeremiah Elukpo explained has taken away the breath of students, described the gesture as uncommon.
In an ADDRESS DELIVERED BY COMR. DR JEREMIAH ELUKPO ON THE OCCASION OF THE DISBURSEMENT of BURSARY ALLOWANCE TO KOGI STATE STUDENTS IN Tertiary INSTITUTIONS AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE ON 24TH JANUARY 2025, described Gov Ododo as a game changer.
The NAKOSS National President added that the revival significant increase in the bursary allowance for Kogi State Students implies Gov. Ododo’s resolute commitment to the students who form a chunk of the Youth population in Kogi State.
“You are a game changer and a man of your words. Today’s programme marks a significant day in the history of Kogi State as we are all here to witness the memorable disbursement of bursary allowance to 8,759 already cleared Undergraduate and Law School Students”.
” This program is memorable because, it is coming with an unprecedented increase in the bursary. It is worthy of note that it is a significant boost to tertiary education within the State”,
” Let me commend His Excellency’s approval for the construction of a 200-Bed Hostel for Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI), Lokoja”, praised the administration also for the Commencement of the construction of 100 hectare perimeter fence for Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, with a Police barracks in Okene as well as the recently approval for the construction of a Senate Building, Faculty of Science and Hostels in Kogi
State University, Kabba”.
“Few months ago, our beloved Governor approved the payment of WAEC fees for 18,734 Students in Public Secondary Schools and just a week ago, he ordered the Cancellation of the policy mandating the Presentation of parents’ Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) a requirement for registration”.
The National President assured of the support of the Students to the Present administration.
