KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT TRAINS 64 ACCREDITED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ON ELECTRONIC ENCOUNTER AND CLAIMS SUBMISSION

 

 

Kogi State government has trained sixty four Health Care providers picked from the twenty one Local Government Area of the state on electronic submission of encounter details and claims submission for enrollees of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.
The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza who declared the electronic capacity-building training open at Good Shepherd hotel Lokoja said the training will equip the participants on seamless electronic data processing for the enrolles in their various facilities.
Dr Adeiza applauded the state government for the continuous financial commitment to the state Health Insurance Agency which has positioned the Agency as one of the leading Health Care financing Agency in the country.
The Commissioner reiterated the political and financial commitment of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in revamping the Health sector for better service delivery.
He charged the Health Care Providers to continue to provide quality health care services to the residents of Kogi State particularly taking advantage of the electronic medical record platform provided by the state government.
The Commissioner further stated that the digital technology will facilitate easy entering of patient records and transmission to the state health insurance agency for processing. He also encouraged them to be attentive and garner the necessary digital skills to ensure their operations are made seamless.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare highlighted the key benefits of digitizing the state health insurance process which he said is to reduce time spent on filling encounter register and cost of waybill in forwarding manual claims.
Dr. Aledare also emphasized on the advantages of automation of encounter and claims to include prompt and real time data submission, easy data analysis and mitigation of fraud.
During the training, the Head of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) of the Agency, Danjuma Abdullahi and Head Operation Standard and Quality Assurance, Dr. Mariam Abdulsalam were the technical facilitators with practical sessions for the participants.
At the close of the training, participants adjudged the KGSHIA ICT application solution as user friendly and capable of easing data processing in their various facilities.
