KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PARO FILMS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF KOGI STATE TELEVISION STATION

Kogi state government on Friday 7th February, 2025 signed a memorandum of understanding between PARO FILMS for the creation of Kogi state Television station at the office of the secretary to the government of Kogi state.
The event had in attendance the secretary to the government of Kogi state Pastor Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, the commissioner for information and communication Hon Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo, representatives from other media outlets and PARO FILMS team led by Mr Olajide Ojoniyi.
In the opening remark given by the Honourable commissioner for information and communication Hon Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo, he thanked the governor of Kogi state for deeming it fit to establish a television station during his term as the head of the ministry of information and communication. He also welcomed the representatives of PARO FILMS to Kogi state and assured them of his support on behalf of the ministry enjoining them to deliver the best for this project.
Mr Olajide Ojoniyi a co-founder and team leader of PARO FILMS reiterated the commissioner’s kind gesture and also thanked the government of kogi state for partnering with them on this project, assuring everyone of giving Kogi the best as that’s what they’re known for. He went further to state that Kogi Television station would be viewed on top television channels like DSTV and star times.

The Secretary to the government of Kogi state Pst Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade in her speech thanked God for making a day like this a reality, also sending a bunch of appreciation to the executive governor of the state Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for picking interest in the information and communication ministry and breaking the mind of establishing a television station for the state after 32 years of creation. She went further to congratulate everyone on this milestone of historic achievement stating that Kogi is the source of Nigeria and as such should be considered as the heart of Nigeria bearing in mind how it borders about nine 9 other states.
“This memorandum of understanding for the establishment of Kogi Television station is not just for information dissemination but also a medium to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Kogi state to the world and set it on the global map with all its historical sites” she said. She further charged PARO FILMS group on behalf of the state to deliver nothing but the best as Kogi state is known for the best, urging both parties to up their game and arrive at a close juncture of professionalism.
The MoU is on the basis of public private partnership (PPP) for five years and it’s renewable for 2 years.
