
KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAM FOR YOUTHS.

Kogi state government through the ministry of education flags off a skill acquisition program for youths in the state.
The program which is an initiative of the senior special Assistant to the governor on informal and vocational education Hon Dr Aminu Atabo was flagged off in a ground style at the conference hall ministry of education lokoja Kogi state on Friday 28 February, 2025.
The commissioner of education who anchored the program ably represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary Dr Jibrin Seidu Alhaji Thanked the governor of Kogi state His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for always addressing the needs of the citizens and specially creating different platforms to enhance a more sustainable life for the youths and women of the state. He Appreciated the SSA on informal and vocational education, Hon Dr Aminu Atabo for his laudable dedication and creativity in carving a nitch such as this where youths who are yet to be employed in the formal sector will earn a skill where self reliance and independency would be achieved. Urging prospective participants to key into this program with utmost seriousness as it is a life changing opportunity. He assured them of the state government’s involvement in the battle to better the lives of all kogite.
The initiator of the program Hon Dr Aminu Atabo in his speech expressed his unreserve appreciation to the governor of the state for entrusting him with this office and finding him fit to contribute to the development of Kogi state. Further more he welcomed and encouraged all the participants to see this program not just as a dividend of democracy but most importantly a life changing opportunity. “Only a good government will empower it citizens to be better and responsible” he said. Assuring the participants of his readiness for the empowerment program he mentioned how the state government has partnered with different institute and organization to make sure the best skills are delivered in this empowerment program. Some of which are UNESCO, Dangote institute of business, Nigerian Korean institute of technology etc.
The program is expected to train participants in their various place of interest for 6 months and the modalities would be communicated in due time.
At the end of this program, participants are expected to be good at their various skill of interest and also ready to transfer same knowledge to other citizens for the growth and development of the society.
This is to reaffirm the governor’s commitment to bettering the lives of Kogi youths and women making them self reliant and building responsible citizenry. It is also a testament of working with individuals who are poised with delivering maximum solutions to the problem of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
