The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has expressed satisfaction cum support for the Governor Ododo Business outreach(GOBO) initiative during the visit of the representatives of the forum, led by the chairman Hon. Yahaya Shehu Ahmed. The forum briefed the Honourable Commissioner on the mission of the GOBO Initiatives and the progress made so far in empowering small- scale entrepreneurs and vulnerable people.

The chairman of the forum said the GOBO Initiative was launched on October 31st, 2024, which he said aligns with Governor Ododo’s vision for consolidation and continuity of people oriented and inclusive governance. The initiative aims to uplift marginalised groups and provide economic opportunities at the community level. The initiative has already shown positive impact, with increased visibility and support among petty traders and small businesses.

Hon. Yahaya thanked the Honourable Commissioner for his exemplary leadership, especially how he has excellently led a transformative financial management system of the state, saying it’s a testament of his capacity, competence and dedication to a greater Kogi Project.

The forum chairman said, based on his sterling record of service and commitment to transformative governance, they requested Asiwaju to be the PATRON of the Forum of SSAs in kogi State.

The Honourable Commissioner, in his response, said he’s honoured to welcome the forum in his office and, much more, pleased with the intent and spirit of GOBO Initiative, which he stated aligns perfectly with the humane and people oriented leadership style of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. So also, in the coming 2025 budget, we are setting enough resources for economic empowerment for women, youths, and even the vulnerable within the society. I can assure you that this administration is not leaving anyone behind.

Asiwaju further gave kudos to the forum for coming up with such a brilliant ideal, saying this audacious step will complement the state Government effort in no small measure. He heartily accepted to be the PATRON of the Forum, saying, when it comes to the issue of service, I am always willing and available to add value.

He admonished the forum to make love, unity, and shared purpose the cornerstone of their drive. With that, you will not only surmount unavoidable challenges, but the aim and objective of the forum will be hugely achieved.
