Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency: Driving Rural Transformation Under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Leadership

As Kogi State marks the first anniversary of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration, the remarkable strides achieved through the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA) have taken center stage. Under the leadership of Chief Dauda Momoh as General Manager, the agency has been instrumental in executing over 230 micro-projects across rural and remote communities, significantly enhancing the quality of life for countless residents.

Governor Ododo’s commitment to grassroots development has been pivotal in empowering the KSCSDA to deliver on its mandate. With strategic funding and unwavering support from the administration, the agency has implemented projects across key sectors, including education, health, water and sanitation . These efforts have bridged the gap in access to essential infrastructure, previously a major challenge for many communities.

Chief Dauda Momoh described the governor’s support as the foundation of the agency’s success, noting that the administration’s vision for inclusive development aligns seamlessly with the agency’s mission. “Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges facing our rural communities. His financial and moral backing has enabled us to implement sustainable projects that are directly impacting lives,” he stated.

The KSCSDA’s micro-projects are a testament to the administration’s focus on addressing community-specific needs. From the construction of boreholes that provide clean water to villages previously reliant on unsafe sources, to the renovation of primary healthcare centers that now deliver critical services to underserved populations, the agency’s interventions have been both timely and transformative.

In the education sector, the agency has built and rehabilitated classrooms, equipped them with modern learning materials, and improved access for children in remote areas.

One notable beneficiary of these projects, a community leader in Dekina Local Government Area, lauded the initiative, stating, “Before now, we had no access to clean drinking water or proper healthcare facilities. Today, thanks to the KSCSDA and Governor Ododo, our community is witnessing a new dawn.”

Sustained Commitment to Rural Development

As the agency celebrates these achievements, Chief Momoh reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum. “We will continue to serve as a tool for the governor’s rural transformation agenda. Our mission is to ensure that no community is left behind in the development journey,” he said.

The agency’s achievements underscore the broader vision of Governor Ododo’s administration, which prioritizes equitable development and the empowerment of rural communities. Over the past year, the administration has not only addressed pressing infrastructure needs but has also laid the foundation for long-term prosperity in Kogi State.

As the celebrations for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s first year in office unfold, the transformative impact of the KSCSDA’s work serves as a shining example of what visionary leadership and strategic investments in rural development can achieve.
