KOGI STATE COMMISSIONER FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT EXTENDS AID TO FIRE VICTIM IN OGORI-MAGONGO.

In a demonstration of commitment to humanitarian service and social inclusion, the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, has extended support to a widow and mother of three, Mrs. Soje Ogori, whose four-bedroom residence was completely destroyed in a fire outbreak.

During her visit to the scene, the Honourable Commissioner provided relief materials, food supplies, and financial assistance to the affected family, reaffirming the state government’s dedication to supporting vulnerable citizens in times of crisis.
In her address, the Commissioner expressed gratitude for the opportunity to extend help and commended the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ododo, for fostering an inclusive environment where women and the less privileged can thrive. She also lauded the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, for her unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of women and children in the state.
On behalf of the Governor and the First Lady, the Commissioner presented Mrs. Soje with a sewing machine, clothing materials, bed sheets, food items, and cash assistance—key resources aimed at helping her rebuild her life and resume her tailoring business, which suffered losses in the fire. Furthermore, the Honourable Commissioner extended her appreciation to the women leaders of Ogori-Mangogo Local Government for their resilience and community spirit. She assured residents that the state government remains steadfast in its mission to improve living conditions and accelerate socio-economic development across Kogi State.
“The support provided today is not just about relief but about empowerment,” she remarked. “We want to ensure that Mrs. Soje can regain financial independence and continue providing for her family. The government will continue to assess her situation and provide the necessary assistance to help her rebuild.”
This intervention underscores the Kogi State Government’s unwavering commitment to empowering women, strengthening social welfare initiatives, and fostering community resilience in Kogi State.
