The Coalition of Political Parties in the state has presented an Award of Excellence to Hon. Mamman Nda Eri, the Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission ( KOSIEC) for conducting the most peaceful local government election since the creation of the state.
Presenting the award on Tuesday 22 December, the leader of the group, Hon. Ibrahim Itodo who congratulated KOSIEC on a successful outing also commended Mamman Eri for supervising the most peaceful election in the state; saying the council elections of December 12 was the first of its kind without attended crises.
Hon. Itodo applauded Mamman Eri for a job well done, emphasising that the state had never had it so good that there was no record of any casualty or death in the electionering process.
Responding, the elated Mamman Eri thanked the Coalition for the honour done him; attributing the huge success to high level of integrity of the Honourable Commissioners and the cooperation of the entire staff of the Commission.
The Chairman further praised the Coalition and other corporate organisations in the State for their unflinching support which had led to the expected end.
In his remarks, the Secretary of the Commission, Hon. John Enesi Ozovehe appreciated the members of the Coalition for the award of recognition. He pledged the commitment of KOSIEC to achieving the best results always.
