Kogi Post Election: PDP Youth Leader Warns Against The Undemocratic Display by Some Ethnic jingoists.
The Kabba/Bunu Local Government youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party, comrade Kayode Esseyin has cautioned against the post election ethnic crisis in the area.
In a press statement on Friday, personally signed by him, Esseyin frowned at the violent attempt by some individuals to disrupt the peace of the state in response to the election that produced the State Governor, Usman Ododo.
He described Governor Ododo’s election as that which was conducted in a free, fair and credible atmosphere, urging all concerned parties, particularly Kogi East to join hands with the Governor for the common good of the state.
“Undoubtedly, the Kogi State election has come and gone with a Governor in place and in charge, except the Court prove otherwise. His Excellency Usman Ododo remains the Executive Governor of Kogi and any attempt for etnicization or campaign of calumny against INEC and the Judiciary will only constitute a flagrant disregard for democratic process.
“It is an incontrovertible fact, that INEC as an unbiased unpire has conducted a free, fair and credible election which brought in the incumbent Governor, the election has come and gone for good, hence its time for our brothers and sisters from the Eastern part of the State to join hands with the People’s Governor of Usman Ododo to build a prosperous Confluence State that will bring about the overall national development.
“Kogi State belongs to all sons and daughters across the 21 Local Government Areas of our dear State and it is therefore imperative to caution and warn all those propagating the ethnic agenda to stop it without further delay as that may cause unwanted animosity and ethnic or inter tribal crisis which will not mean well for the progress and development of our dear state.”, the statement read.
