Gov Ododo Committed To Environmental Sustainability Through ACReSAL Project — Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael

 

…..as Kogi ACReSAL Welcomes World Bank And State Ministry Of Environment Delegation For Projects Inspection In Kabba.

 

The Kogi Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) initiative proudly welcomes a delegation from the World Bank and State Ministry Of Environment to Kabba for a collaborative visit.

The delegation, led by Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, Task Team Leader ACReSAL, State Project Coordinator, Chief (Barr.) Ladi Jatto, OON and the Commissioner of Environment, Engr Joseph Oluwasegun was received at the Kabba/Bunu LGA Secretariat by the Executive Chairman who is ably represented by his Vice Chairperson, Hon (Mrs.) Ifedunmi Olumeyan, along with Supervisors, aides and top local government management.

Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, has reaffirmed the Gov Ododo administration’s dedication to the successful implementation of the Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project in the state.

The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the state and the World Bank, facilitating the seamless implementation of the ACReSAL Project in Kabba. Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael in his welcome address, emphasized that the ACReSAL project will significantly enhance living standards, boost agricultural productivity, and restore degraded landscapes in the state.

He expressed gratitude to the World Bank and State Ministry Of Environment for their commitment to Kogi communities, assuring them of the local government dedication to the project’s success.

Dr Agene, in her remarks, praised the Kogi team for their enthusiasm and effective project execution. She commended Kogi State Government for its effective and efficient implementation of the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement, and Livelihood Improvement Support, APPEALS Project in the state.

Additionally, she emphasized the significance of ACReSAL in addressing environmental challenges arising from rapid urbanization and population growth.

“The ACReSAL project holds special significance for us as it aligns with our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability amidst extensive developmental activities,” stated Dr Agene.

“It reflects the enduring partnership between the World Bank and the State Administration in fostering agricultural prosperity and environmental resilience.”

“We are impressed by the proactive approach of the Kogi State Administration in swiftly utilizing the disbursed funds for preparatory studies and investments,” remarked Dr. Agene.

Zacchaeus, emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration and community involvement in ensuring the success of the ACReSAL project.

The visit by the World Bank delegation provided an opportunity to showcase the advancements made in the project and explore strategies for scaling up initiatives towards a sustainable future for the Kabba city populace.

Chief (Barr.) Ladi Jatto, State Project Coordinator of the ACReSAL Project, commended the Kogi State Government for its exemplary progress as one of the leading states in the project.

The visit concluded with the site inspection of the ongoing Omigbo erosion project in Kabba.
