… CP Direct Arraignment of Man Who Alledgedly Stabbed Physically Challenged Woman to Death in Okene.
The Police in Kogi State would from next week arraigned man who alledgedly stabbed and killed physically challenged woman in Okene.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Police, gave the orders when he received in audience the Kogi State Executive Secretary, Office For Disability Affairs, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael and Management Staff of the Agency who visited in his office at the Command’s headquarters.
The visit by KOSODA according to the Executive Secretary was to show interest in the matter affecting member of the community, Aisha Aminu who was stabbed to death.
Barr. Dare said the interest became necessary particularly that investigation into the matter has been concluded.
The Police Commissioner in his remarks asked for the arraignment of the suspect, equally promised access for members of the disability community in the State headquarters of the command by creating walkways to ease movement of persons with Disabilities using wheel chairs.
The CP promised to look into the request to establish the office of a desk officer that would relate with PWDs on issues related to their well-being and rights in the State, assured of worthy collaboration between the command and KOSODA.
Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael said their mission was to seek for speedy trial for the killer of l Aisha Aminu, a physically challenged 30 year old woman by one Siyaka Mohammed.
Barr. Dare called on the Commissioner of Police to also create walkways that would allow and ease movement of PWDs visiting the command, called for the establishment of a Desk Office to handle cases related to PWDs.
Recalled that a man simply identified as Siyaka Mohammed, reportedly stabbed Aisha Aminu, a physical challenged woman to death over a misunderstanding.
The incident occurred at Obehira, Okene LGA, Kogi State. The 44 year old Siyaka the assailant has been arrested and in Police Command.
