The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has congratulated Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on her victory at the Akwa Ibom State High Court, describing her as a pride for women in Nigeria.

The court struck out a proxy defamation suit allegedly instituted on behalf of Senate President Godswill Akpabio against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan over an organ harvesting allegation. In a landmark judgment, the court held that the plaintiff failed to disclose a reasonable cause of action and lacked the requisite locus standi to maintain an action in defamation. The court further ruled that the allegedly defamatory statements neither originated from nor were first published by the Senator, but were merely a republication of information already in the public domain.

Gambo said no amount of obstacle would deter the Senator from serving vulnerable and less privileged Nigerians. He described Senator Natasha as a symbol of the struggle for the emancipation of women and the voiceless in society, and affirmed that the Kogi PDP stands solidly behind her.

“We are very certain that her second term is sacrosanct. She has proven to be a good product and the world is waiting and looking up to her to continue to serve humanity,” the PDP chairman said.

He congratulated Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, insisting that she is a Nigerian who has come to equity with clean hands will emerge victorious in her return to the Senate.
