Kogi NYCN Pass Confidence Votes On Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, Lauds His Reposition of KGIRS.
The Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe.
In a statement issued to Newsmen signed by Comr. Ben Jerry, the State Chairman, expressed satisfaction with the repositioning of the Service since the assumption of office of Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe.
While noting that until his assumption of office, the State’s IGR was a paltry sum compared to recent figures, expressed satisfaction with the current Chairman of the service who they said has raised the bar.
” We can confidently say we are impressed with the revenue body presently generating capacity. Though this success story was the brain child of former Governor Yahaya Bello, with Alhaji Salihu as Chairman, we have seen it sustenance till date”.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria lauded the priority placed on the welfare and motivation of Staff by Alhaji Enehe as unprecedented, said the approval the board received from Gov. Ahmed Ododo for an increase in wage that was even higher than the current minimum wage that will take effect from November 2024, described the Chairman as a man who loves his workers.

While noting that the human face approach of the Chairman using the Media to educate and enlightened citizens on the need to pay their taxes, the Service has engaged through regular interactions with critical stakeholders with a view to improving tax compliance.
The NYCN commended the Service for the deployment of electronic data base for tax payers which has helped in financial monitoring and service delivery.
It added that under the present administration, it has deployed ICT, a feat that has contributed to improving the collection of revenue.
Similarly it lauded the Chairman for eliminating financial leakages at all levels and the automation of the service collection process, enforcement of treasury single account, general public engagement through effective communication and ensured that the citizens are aware of how their tax is utilized in building infrastructure.
The NYCN said the collaboration and synergy with MDA’s on strengthening the IGR performance, said the service has equally collaborated with the police, Civil defence, FRSC, transport remains amongst other organizations, a feat it described as rear.
Similarly, partnering with Union, traders association across the state, said the activities of the
JTB across the country was equally a major contributing factor in IGR boost under the present leadership, said the NYCN stands with the Chairman.
The NYCN said the increase in internally generated revenue from N17.3 billion to N23.4 billion was a milestone for the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, described Alhaji Enehi as a servant leader who loves that while there is a record of astronomical increase in Revenue, the Staff who lay the golden egg must be rewarded.
The NYCN command the service for embarking on training and retraining of all the staff including the drivers on tax administration and many other developmental programme such as strengthening the relationship with the critical stakeholders, sustaining partnership with the MDA’s and local government and all other private individuals, agencies, military, police, civil defence, DSS and FRSC and many others under Alhaji Enehi, aimed towards the revenue improvement in the state as commendable.

during the period under the present Chairman as one that also caught the attention of NYCN, said, “Today when comparing actual accomplishments to the objective of the service on the period under review, Alhaji Enehi has changed the narrative.
The NYCN called for more support and patience from the Staff, assuring that what is in the offing for their selfless service would be rewarded with commensurate emoluments when the addition to their wage and salaries as approved to take effect from November salaries comes into place.
