Kogi NEWMAP intensifies move on Projects’ Sustainability, and the need for a better Environment.

In a bid to instill a culture of environmental protection in children in communities of intervention in Kogi State, Kogi NEWMAP is currently on a re-sensitisation campaign to Primary & Secondary schools in communities of intervention.

This is to ensure the sustainability of the humongous investments by the State Government in communities of intervention (ADUM ROAD-OGUGU, AGASSA, OZURI, OGANE-AJI & GREATER LOKOJA WATER WORKS), through the instrumentality of Kogi NEWMAP.

To do this, NEWMAP visited:
1. U.B.E, NURU ISLAMIYA, OGANE-AJI,
2. U.B.E, OZURI,
3. DSS, AHACHE, AGASSA,
4. ST. JOHN’S PRIMARY SCHOOL, AGASSA,
5. L.G.E.A (QIC) PILOT SECONDARY SCHOOL, OGUGU, where tailor-made presentations on ACCIDENT PREVENTION, ENVIRONMENTAL BEST PRACTICES, PROJECT SUSTENANCE, ETC., were delivered.

Pupils in the visited schools were advised against dumping of solid waste into constructed drains, as it would block the smooth flow of water, which always has unbearable consequences… Hence, the destruction of LEGACY PROJECTS in the State was strongly discouraged!!!

On their part, the pupils and teachers in all the schools visited, were full of joy for the sensitisation/reorientation exercise, and promised to be vanguards of environmental protection in the State.

Kogi State NEWMAP… Combating Erosion… Uplifting Livelihoods!!!
