
The Kogi State MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY has begun Data Capturing Exercise for Private Schools.
Rhe DATA COLLECTION exercise is for ALL PRIVATE registered and unregistered SCHOOLS IN KOGI STATE
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology consequently asked private schools Proprietors and Managers to avail themselves of the State-wide private schools data collection exercise.
School Proprietors/Managers are expected to provide the following details regarding their school:
School name, status (registered, almost registered, ready to register, yet to register), Levels of operation: (Pre-primary, Primary, JS, SS), LGA, town, location (urban, rural), new entrants (enrolment by age, class, gender), facilities: chairs/desks for students/pupils (useable/not useable), chairs/tables for teachers (useable/not useable), number of classrooms (good, bad), number of useable toilets for students/pupils (male, female), toilets for teachers (male/female) computers (number of useable computers), number of Laboratories (useable), Library (usable) number of students/pupils (by gender, age), number of teachers (male, female), qualification, and other relevant details.
The MOEST says any Proprietor/Manager who failed to comply with the directives to have their information documented for the purpose of better planning of the education sector, shall be sanctioned by the power conferred on the Hon. Commissioner according to section 24 (1) of Kogi State Education Law, 2020.
“24 (1) The Commissioner may order any Institution to be closed…
(3) Once an institution is closed by the Commissioner, it loses the right to re-open for a period of operation until a fresh application for consent has
been made in writing and has been made not less than 6 months depending on the reason for its closure from date of its closure”.
Note: Kogi State Educational Law, 2020, shall be available for collection at the venue.
Details of the scheduled data collection conference as follows:
Venue of the documentation exercise is Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Conference Room begining from 8:00am – 5pm daily
All AEEs are expected to submit the lists of all private schools (registered and unregistered) in their Local Government Areas.
