The Kogi State Ministry of Education has convened a critique and review meeting on the draft Kogi State Policy on Gender in Education and Its Implementation Guidelines 2026 – 2036.
The Ministry, in collaboration with the State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, developed the working document to provide guidance on gender responsiveness in education across the state.
In an invitation to critical stakeholders, the Ministry said the review session is aimed at gathering inputs that will strengthen the policy and make it a practical, acceptable working document for the education sector.
Invited participants include the Chairman and Members of the House of Assembly Committee on Education, State EXCO Members, the Head of Civil Service, World Bank State Focal Person, and the Accountant General, alongside other key actors in the education space.
According to the notice, the meeting will hold on Thursday, 23rd July 2026 at 10:00 am at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Lokoja.
The Ministry noted that contributions from stakeholders will be vital in ensuring the policy addresses the needs of boys and girls equitably and promotes inclusive access, retention, and performance in schools across Kogi State.
The 10-year policy and implementation guidelines are expected to set the framework for gender mainstreaming in curriculum delivery, school management, teacher training, and safe learning environments in the state.
