Kogi Guber: “Campaigning on basis of ethnicity, not capacity, sign of incompetence” Hon. Kingsley Fanwo.


 

Anyone Campaigning on the basis of where he comes from to govern Kogi State in 2024 is not competent, has no capacity.

 

The Kogi State Commissioner For Information and Communication, Hon Kingsley Fanwo made the above assertion at a presentation on Unity in a multi ethnic, multi religious society, the Kogi Story at the 3rd Annual GYB Seminar for Political and Crime Correspondents/Editors, holding at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The Seminar is a two-day seminar, aimed at empowering professionals on the beats in focus with relevant skills and information to perform their important roles efficiently.

Hon. Fanwo explained that in Kogi today, Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration has made competence not ethnicity a priority in appointment consideration.

While pointing out that competent people seeking to govern the people of Kogi State should talk about competence, capacity and not ethnicity, desclosed that infrastructure are equally and evenly distributed without recourse to ethnic consideration.

While he described Kogi State as a multi ethnic and tribal State, lamented that Kogi State has suffered development setback owing to ethnicity, reason why the people should not be swayed by ethnic sentiments in who governs the State in the forthcoming November Governorship election.

” Until the coming of Gov. Bello, Kogi lost a lot to disunity and ethnicity. Kogi could not tap into it potentials. The State produced leaders on the basis of ethnicity not competence”.

” Projects in Kogi are today distributed across the State without recourse to ethnicity, reason for peace and unity “.

The Commissioner explained that with the deliberate policies of Gov. Bello, nobody is talking about ethnicity in who governs the State, urged the people to elect leaders on the basis of competence, described Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as competent, and acceptable to the people.
