The Principal Partner of Z. E. Abbas and Company, Barrister Abbas has endorsed the recent call by the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu to ignore any promotion of ethnic agenda in the forthcoming Kogi State governorship election.

Barrister Abbas had in a recent interview with Fancy Media Team (FMT), commended the foresight and statesmanship disposition of Prince Shaibu towards holistic development of Kogi State, adding that the Minister is a perfect chip off old block.

Fancy Media Team had exclusively reported that Prince Shaibu, who is the Director-General of Kogi State APC Governorship Campaign Council dismissed voting along tribal affiliations, adding that such regressive tendency is against the political philosophy of his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu.

While rendering his voice to the patriotic call of the Minister, Barrister Abbas noted that the development of the Confluence State should be the major driving force of any individual who is seeking for elective position rather than promoting sectional agenda that was the bane of Kogi State old political order.

“Politics cannot be sectional. We don’t have anything like sectional or ethnic Governor in our constitution. Granted that all states in the federation are divided into Senatorial Districts for administrative purposes. Once anybody emerges governor of a particular state, he becomes the leader of all irrespective of religion, ethnic and political affiliations. So, it’s a display of political naivety for anyone to think he can succeed in this forthcoming governorship election based on ethnicism”, he said.
