Kogi Govt. Sign MoU for Tertiary Institutions Students to access affordable quality health services.
The Kogi State Government, has through the State Health Insurance Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding that would guarantee access to quality healthcare for students of the State in State owned tertiary institutions.
Signing the Memorandum of Understanding, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, described the scheme as laudable, will improve and save lives on campuses.
Similarly the scheme she noted would protect students and families from financial hardship of huge medical bills, maintain high standard of healthcare delivery services and provide better funding opportunities for the Tertiary Institutions health centers for improved healthcare delivery.
She called for thorough sensitization and awareness amongst Student Union Government and Students on the benefits.
She commended the Executive Secretary of the KSHI and the agency for making the State proud, congratulated heads of institutions on the take off of the scheme.

significant milestones for health delivery.
He disclosed that presently 44,000 civil servants are benefiting from the scheme, thanked former Governor Yahaya Bello, Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for continuing on the part of consolidation through the TSHIP program.
While pointing out that the TSHIP program was initiated by former Gov. Bello, praised Gov. Ododo for validating the approval for the benefit of the students in Tertiary Institutions.
The Executive Secretary disclosed that the TSHIP program will provide access to quality health services to students in State owned tertiary institution, pointing out that it will afford them the opportunity to have wholistic health care from health institution on campus and where necessary referred to other secondary, tertiary and health institutions in the State.
As for the funding, students he disclosed from their tuition pay N2000 as medical fee every session, with N1600 going directly to the school clinic and N600 to the KSHIA.
Responding on behalf of the heads of tertiary institutions in the State, the Vice Chancellor, Prince Abubakar Audu, Anyigba, Prof. Marietu Tenuche, described the health scheme as
laudable, assured of the full cooperation of support of heads of institutions for the program to succeed in the State various institutions.
