Kogi Govt. Begins Asphalting of Uruvukura/Ahogede/ Idozumi Roads


 

As Kogi Works Commissioner, Engr Dr Abubakar Ohere caution road users on safety.

The Kogi State
government has promised to continue and to embark on people oriented projects that will attract more development into the state.

The State Commissioner for works and Housing Engr. Dr. Abubakar Ohere gave the assurance today while inspecting the laying of asphalt on the ongoing reconstruction of Ahogede to Idozumi road.

 

Engr. Ohere described government’s infrastructural development as a catalyst for economic growth, added that it has been a priority of Governor Yahaya Bello to make the well-being of the people a priority.

He stressed that the current administration would not relent on roads infrastructure to attract investors that will enhance agricultural and other development across the State.

He said, “With the ongoing construction, the road is now witnessing the laying of asphalt to improve the quality of the job. The road when completed will stand the test of time while people living within the axis will enjoy the positive economic development the road will bring back to them”.

Engr. Ohere added that the road is been constructed in compliance with the directives of Gov. Yahaya Bello pointing out that “The materials being use is of the highest quality standard to enable the road stands the test of time.”

” For the past few years in Kogi State, what the people are witnessing now in terms of development has not occurred in the history of road construction in the state”.

The Commissioner, while pin-pointing the importance of infrastructural development as a means of attracting more people into the state and to accelerate the economic growth said, “The current administration under the leadership of Gov. Bello will continue the rebranding of the entire state through his economic and infrastructural development plan.”

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on road and the commitment of the contractors handling the project to meet up with date line, noted that the project has reached an appreciable stage.

He reiterated Gov. Bello’s administration’s determination to ensuring that all ongoing projects were completed in the shortest possible time.
