Kogi Governorship: Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni cleared to Contest APC Primary


 

 

A leading contender for the Governorship of Kogi State, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni has been cleared by the Governorship screening committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to contest in the coming primary election of the party.

 

Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni is among the eighteen aspirants under the All Progressives Congress, APC, that were screened in Abuja at the weekend.

The news of his clearance was received with joy this afternoon by his Campaign organization and thousands of his supporters across the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi state.

A member of the campaign organization, Tahirudeen Musa said they received the news of their Principal’s clearance with utmost happiness and joy, describing it as a welcome development.

Musa pointed out that with the clearance, their Principal was now position to face other aspirants in the contest, saying Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni is a perfect fit for the job as against others.

Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni who is a Professor of Public Sector Accounting, rose to the position of Permanent Secretary in Kogi state Civil Service, and also worked with the federal civil service as well as the University.

The primary election of the APC comes up on the fourteenth of April, with the Governorship election schedule to hold in November this year.
