In furtherance of his bid to secure the most plumed job in Kogi State, Dr. Reuben Atabo Okpanachi, SAN, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has visited the Ata-Igala and president, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, HRM Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Ogwuche Akpa 11 for Royal blessings.
The governorship hopeful who was at the Ata-Igala’s Palace Idah, Kogi State, Monday February 20, 2023, had earlier, after due and wide consultation declared his intention to contest for the most exalted Office in the state, thereby finally succumbing to pressure from well-meaning citizens of the state, who have successfully prevailed on him to seek the governorship position of Kogi State.
Speaking at the Ata-Igala’s Palace, Dr Atabo said he was at the palace to show respect to the revered Monarch and the stool, adding that as a son, he believed that it was incumbent upon him to intimate the Ata-Igala of his aspiration, hence his visit for the Monarch’s royal blessings.
Continuing, Dr. Atabo urged the entire Igala nation to support his aspiration for a better and prosperous Igala nation and the entire Kogi State.
He further stated that if given the opportunity to lead the state, he would do so with the fear of God, even as he promised to enthrone justice, equity and fairness in the governance of the state.
The Ata-Igala, in his address, prayed for the redemption of Igala nation and urged the governorship hopeful to work towards eliminating pull-down syndrome in Kogi Politics, while also wishing him the best in his ambition.
