Kogi Government Reiterate Need For Partnership Towards Building A Virile Education Sector – Pharm. Asuku


 

A clarion has once again been made by the Kogi State Government on the need for individuals, corporate organizations and communities to partner with the government towards building a virile education sector.

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Government, Pharm. Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku reiterated the call while speaking at the Second Year anniversary of Hon. David Idris Zacharias, Member Representing Idah Federal Constituency, disclosed that out of the thematic areas of the administration of Gov Yahaya Bello, Education tops in priority.

The Chief of Staff who was represented at the occasion by Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB, Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology also flagged off the Education Support material of the lawmaker for his constituents.

Items flagged off include 10, 258 note books; 2,000 Plastics Table and chairs ; 7 Generator set, 1, 000 Hard cover lessons note; 7 Computers set, 17 Science kit; 8 teachers table and 1.074 Long notebook for Idah Federal Constituency.

Pharm Asuku, explained that the commitment of Gov Bello to Education influenced his administration’s policy that education would henceforth enjoy 20% yearly budget allocation.

While pointing out that no investment in education ever goes down the drain, the Chief of Staff, called on well meaning individuals and other stakeholders to come join hands with the government in developing the education sector, explaining that government alone in view of the huge cost of funding education, cannot do it alone.

The Chief of Staff commended the Federal Lawmaker for the gesture, urged other Representatives of the people to emulate his efforts towards improving the education sector.

Earlier in a remarks, Hon. David Idris Zacharias, said the gesture to support the education need of the people is to complement the good work Gov. Yahaya Bello is making in the Education Sector.
