KOGI FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR, ACHUBA CONGRATULATES PROF. AMUPITAN (SAN) ON APPOINTMENT AS INEC CHAIRMAN

 

The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba has congratulated Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) on his appointment as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Achuba, in a statement he personally signed, described the appointment of the renowned Professor of law as well-deserved, considering his track records in the institutions he served before the appointment.

He said Professor Amupitan will no doubt, bring his wealth of experience to bear in the nation’s electoral umpire that currently requires major reform.

The former Deputy Governor expressed hope that INEC. under the leadership of Professor Amupitan would witness transparency, credibility, professionalism and fairness, while urging the Kogi born SAN to build his administration on rule of law.

Achuba further congratulated Kogi state and Nigeria as a whole on the appointment of a man of integrity, while thanking President Bola Tinubu for the choice of Professor Amupitan.

Professor Amupitan, he said, became the first person from Kogi State and the North-Central geopolitical zone to be nominated to this highly sensitive and nationally significant position.

He prayed God to grant the new INEC chairman the wisdom and understanding to put the nation’s electoral body in the right direction.
