
Kogi Finance Commissioner, Asiru Idris Turns 50: Birthday Bash Doubles as Mega Empowerment Blitz, Launches Tinubu/Ododo 2027 Support Group

KOGI STATE, Nigeria – The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Chief Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris FCA, turned his birthday into a state‑wide empowerment extravaganza, blending personal celebration with a bold agenda for community development.
The festivities kicked off with the commissioning of six (6) solar‑powered motorized boreholes across Yagba East Local Government Area, providing sustainable access to clean water and easing the daily burden on women and children.
Building on the water projects, the Commissioner rolled out a Mega Empowerment Programme that combined cash grants, asset donations, and political mobilization:
Furthermore, the Commissioner dolled out Cash Empowerment of ₦50,000, distributed to hundreds of beneficiaries in six wards of Yagba East, targeting grassroots supporters, artisans, traders, youths, and vulnerable groups.
His Entrepreneurial Boost saw 35 local entrepreneurs received ₦250,000 each to scale their small‑ and medium‑scale enterprises.
Towards Strengthening APC, Party Executives at ward and LGA levels were allocated ₦15 million, while five APC women leaders each received ₦1 million.
The Commissioner donated One bus to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Yagba East Chapter, four cars to loyal party stakeholders, ten motorcycles for grassroots mobilization, and ten each of deep freezers, generators, hair dryers, clippers, and branding machines.
His Humanitarian Aid included 1,000 pieces of wrappers and 1,000 bags of rice (10 kg and 5 kg) were distributed to women, party, faithful, and vulnerable groups.
The celebration also served as a political milestone with the inauguration of the Tinubu/Ododo 2027 Continuity Support Group, underscoring the commissioner’s allegiance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo FCA of Kogi State.
The event attracted a cross‑section of dignitaries, including royal fathers, APC executives, religious leaders, community heads, party loyalists, and friends of the celebrant.
Stakeholders hailed the occasion as more than a birthday part “a strategic convergence of service, loyalty, and sustainable development,” they said, noting that Chief Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris FCA’s celebrations consistently translate into tangible benefits for the people.
