AEAN Kogi Inaugurates New Executives, Appeals to Gov. Ododo for 85m Office Complex and Vehicle Support

The new executives of the Kogi State chapter of the association of estate agents in Nigeria, AEAN, was formally inaugurated on Saturday in Lokoja, north central Nigeria, alongside the launch plans for its proposed office complex in Lokoja, with a direct appeal to the state government for financial and logistical support.
Speaking at the ceremony, the newly inaugurated Chairman of AEAN Kogi State Chapter, Surveyor and Valuer Abdulwasiu Folorunsho Muhammad, said estate professionals are “on the frontline of housing and land administration” and need a functional secretariat to serve the state effectively.
According to him, the proposed single-storey secretariat will house offices, a 200-capacity training hall, and an ICT centre. Folorunsho says the secretariat, when built, will serve as a dispute resolution hub, documentation centre, and base for public enlightenment against fraudulent and illegal real estate practices.
The association presented a detailed Bill of Quantities putting the total project cost at 85,000,000 naira.The group said it is ready to provide architectural plans and adopt accountability measures, and requested that the state government adopt AEAN Kogi as a technical partner in housing policy implementation and the fight against illegal land and housing agents.
In addition to the office complex, the chairman appealed to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the donation of an official bus to the chapter. Folorunsho noted that this would “greatly enhance our capacity for field operations, training, advocacy, and collaboration with government agencies.”
“We believe a functional AEAN office in Lokoja will not only strengthen our operations, it will also create a one-stop center where government and citizens can engage verified estate practitioners for safe and transparent property transactions,” Muhammad said.
On fighting fake agents in the state, Surveyor Folorunsho says,
“Our goal is to partner with the Kogi State Government to fight fraudulent and illegal property agents and sanitize the real estate sector.
On service commitment to AEAN members in the state, the new AEAN state chairman pledged to live above board in the service of the association in Kogi State,
“We pledge to lead this association with integrity, inclusiveness, and accountability, and to support government policies that promote housing and investor confidence in Kogi State.”
Surveyor Abdulwasiu Folorunsho commended the governor for his commitment to infrastructure, youth empowerment, and job creation and pledged that the new executive would lead with “integrity, inclusiveness, and accountability.”
The chairman thanked Gov. Ododo for his support, and also appreciated Honourable Commissioners, royal fathers, the AEAN National President, and other dignitaries present.
He concluded by calling on all stakeholders and the Kogi State Government to partner with the association in sanitizing the real estate sector and protecting residents from fraudulent property agents.
The event ended with prayers for AEAN Kogi State Chapter, Kogi State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
