The Kogi State Government says it is not taking any chance in meeting the National Human Capital Development vision 2030.
Speaking at a one day stakeholders meeting of Kogi State National Human Capital Development, with the theme: Quality Service Delivery For Transformation, Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, says the state is committed to a healthy, educated, and productive citizens for a globally competitive nation by 2030.
Hon. Jones notes the importance of the Human Capital Development in building a virile nation, disclosed that HCD is geared towards improving the quality and standard of life of the people.
He stressed that with the importance of the Human Capital Development, the need for Kogi State to key into the vision of HCD, particularly as it partains to Education, Health and Nutrition cannot be overemphasized.
He added that the HCD would assist greatly in providing equitable access to affordable and quality health care for citizens, urged the participants to take the meeting with the seriousness it deserves.
On Education, the Education Commissioner notes that HCD would go a long way in promoting quality, inclusive, and functional education system, expressed appreciation that the vision of HCD is a reflection of the dreams and aspiration of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
While pointing out that HCD would greatly improve on the Labour Force of the State, added that it would empower the Youths to have the capacity and skills to create or access employment after a robust teaching and learning in the state’s tertiary institutions.
The Kogi State Human Capital Development (HCD) Meeting which held its inaugural Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting yesterday, would produce a draft work plan on the HCD thematic areas: Health and Nutrition, Education, and Labour force in line with the National vision for the State.
