…Reiterates Government Commitment to Reposition Education Sector
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Kogi State, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB on Thursday received in his office the Executive members of Bunu Development Association, BDA, a socio-cultural group in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.
The Commissioner who was delighted for the visit, said Kogi State Education sector has witness unprecedented progress under the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration.
“Under the present administration, education has witnessed a turnaround at all levels of education, the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya has surpassed past efforts by previous administration in building a viable education sector.”
Parts of the innovations of the Governor according to the Education Commissioner is the Education law which he noted was aimed at righting every wrong in the sector, saying Kogi State is now on the right pedestal of development.
Hon. Jones reiterated the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, to revamping education in the state, with the allocation of 20 percent to education from 2021 till the end of his tenure.
He urged the Bunu Development Union to give their unalloyed support the New Direction Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to attract more democracy dividends to the Area.
President of the Association, Pastor Folorunsho Kolawole had earlier said the visit was aimed at appreciating the Honourable Commissioner for his efforts and remarkable achievements since assumption of office.
Pastor Kolawole described the Commissioner as a proud ambassador of Bunu Kingdom, having justified the Confidence reposed in him by the Governor.
He expressed optimism in the ability of the Commissioner to contribute more to the growth of education sector.
The President on behalf of the Association appreciated the Honourable commissioner for the show of love to activities of the body.
