Dr. Sandra MiMi Musa, Special Adviser on State Emergency Management Agency, has commended His Excellency Governor Usman Ododo for his commitment to gender inclusion in the upcoming Kogi State local government council polls.

Recall that the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission slated October 19th for the upcoming local council elections.

At the All Progressive Congress (APC) Kogi State stakeholders meeting held today, it was concluded that all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) APC aspirants shall have FEMALE as their running mates, 40% of Ward Councillorship aspirants and Council Heads after victory shall also be women. This groundbreaking decision is a testament to Governor Ododo’s dedication to empowering women and promoting gender equality in leadership positions.

Dr. Musa praised the Governor’s initiative, stating that it is a consolidation of the legacy of Former Governor Yahaya Bello. She emphasized that this move will not only enhance women’s participation in politics but also contribute to more inclusive decision-making processes at the local level.

The resolution was made public today, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the upcoming council polls. Dr. Musa’s appreciation and acknowledgement of Governor Ododo’s efforts demonstrate the significance of this milestone in promoting gender inclusion in Kogi State’s political landscape.
