Kogi Commissioner Gegu Donates Music Equipment Worth Millions of Naira to Young Artiste, Pledges Continued Support for Youth Talents
Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, has donated musical and sound equipment to Abdulhameed, an indigenous musician and DJ from Kogi Local Government Area, to support his career.
The items donated include speakers, an amplifier, and other studio equipment worth million of Naira.
Engr. Gegu said the gesture was informed by his passion for nurturing young talents in the state.
Describing the support as part of his broader commitment to youth development, the commissioner assured that his resolve to empower talented young people “remains unquantifiable.”
He urged the beneficiary to use the equipment for its intended purpose, noting that “every humble beginning will almost certainly lead to greater success.”
Engr. Gegu said the donation aligns with Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo’s administration’s broader support for future leaders.
He commended the governor for offsetting all examination fees for final-year pupils and students in primary and secondary schools, and lauded the state government’s scholarship scheme as “unprecedented.”
The commissioner assured Governor Ododo of the continued support and loyalty of youths in the state. He also reiterated his commitment to serve the people of Kogi LGA “in a manner never before witnessed,” adding that “no life is worth living if it is not for selfless service.”
In his remarks, Abdulhameed described the support as a surprise, saying it has motivated him to do more with his talent and to mentor other young people from Kogi LGA.
