The Senator Elect for Kogi Central Senatorial District, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has joined in advocating strongly for the North Central Geopolitical zone of the Country to produce the Deputy Senate President.
The Senator Elect made the disclosure at a meeting of the North Central to demand for the Deputy Senate President of the National Assembly during the North Central Senators Elect Meeting.
Engr Ohere described the North Central Region as the regulator of the nation’s politics, insisting that if the region cannot get the Senate President, it becomes necessary for her to be given the Deputy Senate Presidency.
The Senator Elect for Kogi Central said the only way the region can get something commensurate to her stabilizing role in politics is for it to be considered for the Deputy Senate President.
According to the Senator Elect, looking at the challenges and peculiarities of the North Central it is obvious that the region is in the minority reason for the high level of demand for inclusiveness, maintaining that the way to bridging the gap is for the region to be given the Deputy Senate Presidency to enable it address squarely the challenges bedeviling the region.
” We want a sense of belonging to enable us address our concerns as Minority from North Central, a region where the burden of Nigeria is addressed reason why we must push for the Deputy Senate Presidency to enable us address our concerns”.
