Leads high powered delegation to Commiserates with Families, People Affected by the Boat Mishap that Claimed Lives
The Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi today led a high powered delegation from Kogi West, inclusive of Hon. Danladi Aguye (Member Representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, the Executive Chairman of Lokoja LGA and Hon Haruna to commiserate with the communities affected by the recent boat mishap that led to loss of lives.
Alhaji Dauda Kabir, Maiyaki of kupa received the Senator and his delegation, thanked the Senator and his delegation for their show of empathy.
The Traditional Ruler asked for the intervention of Government and other private individuals to come to the support of the families that lost their loved ones including properties in the unfortunate incident.
In a swift response to the request by the paramount ruler, Senator Sunday Karimi set up a support fund for the families.
The Senator immediately pledged a sum of Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) while Hon Danladi Aguye also pledged the sun of Five Million Naira (N5,000,000).
The fund raising committee is headed by Hon Haruna, a distinguished personality and a former Member of House of Representatives.
Sen. Karimi gave out one million naira cash to those present at the visit assured that he will continue to support the community to enable them get off their feet
The delegation also took time off to inspect the Cottage Hospital being constructed and financed privately by Sen. Sunday Karimi at Edo Community, in Kakanda.
