
Kogi Boat Mishap: 8 More Corpses Recovered, 8 others Still Missing.

Nine more bodies have been recovered following the ongoing search and rescue mounted by the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency following the boat mishap that occurred in Ibaji, Kogi State.
Recalled that the mishap claimed about 36 lives, with twenty one earlier recovered.
The mishap occurred on River Niger, Tuesday at about 4:30pm in Ibaji Local Government area of Kogi State with eight others still declared missing.
Recalled that the boat fully loaded with people departed from Onugwa Community
in Ibaji heading to Ilushi market, capsized leaving eight others yet to be found.
According to report, the boat was fully loaded with people going to market for the first of October celebration. 21 bodies were recovered initially.
The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Muktar Atima, confirmed the recovery of the eight bodies, said search is ongoing for the remaining eight.
