Kogi Auditor General For Local Government receives Country Head, Young Women of Africa, Comr. Idris Omeiza Asmawu

 

… Assures of Gov. Ododo’s continued support for youths to excel in positive endeavors.

 

The Kogi State Government has assured that it will continue to give necessary support to Youths, particularly the female gender, to enable them excel in whatever endeavors they find themselves that will bring glory to the State.

 

The Kogi State Auditor General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka gave the assurances when he received in audience the Country Head, Young Women of Africa, Comr. Idris Omeiza Asmawu in his office.

He assured that the State Government will continue to ensure that young women are mobilised towards being key role players of the change agents, mentioned that the increase participation of women in governance in the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo was deliberate.

The Auditor General expressed appreciation that youths of the State are now not just representing Nigeria in several fields, but are taking their talents and potentials outside the country to represent Africa internationally.

He commended Kogi Youth under the leadership of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo for not limiting themselves to the State, but are going out of the country to make the desired impact.

He command Comr. Idris Omeiza Asmawu for not just an indigene of the State with leadership qualities worth emulating, but also a female who is making the State proud.

In a remarks at the courtesy visit, Ambassador Oladele John Nihi, Special Adviser on Youth and Students Affairs, described the emergence of Comr. Idris Omeiza Asmawu as the Country Head, Young Women of Africa, as another fulfilment that the investment by the present administration of Gov Ododo on youths of the State is making the desired impact.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Comr. Idris Omeiza Asmawu to deliver on her mandate, lauded the administration of Gov Ododo for making youths, with young women as a priority.

In her remarks, the Country Head, Young Women of Africa, Comr. Idris Omeiza, said the objectives of the platform focuses on empowering young women to become leaders and change makers in Africa and the world at large.

She said the platform seeks to empower young women in rural areas, showcasing Kogi state to the world, by hosting of a conference in Kogi state which will be attended internationally, thus putting Kogi state on the global map.

She said the primary focus is increase women participation in politics, leadership, reduce gender violence, stronger civil society, promote Nigerian International and showcasing the nations values.

She stressed that her administration will focus on the girl child education, advocacy for investment to Kogi state, added that Young Women of Africa (YWOA)
Africa is home to about 308 Million young women and girls who constitute a crucial parts of the continent population according to the African child policy forum.

The goals of the platform the Country Head further disclosed is geared towards empowering young women, campaign against human trafficking, educational training, mentorship, leadership development, economic empowerment, capacity building, gender promotions and fostering partnership.
