KOGI APC TICKET, 2023: WHO THE ODDS FAVOUR?

M.S. Shagari.

Over time leadership failure calls for *Power shift and power retain* sometimes between 2007-2015 where rancour and acrimony of all sorts led to destruction of lives and property worth millions of naira in Kogi State. Presently, the world population explosion in knowledge, inventions and social consciousness has greatly influenced the capacity of citizens most especially the youths. Hence, our ability to utilize these assets judiciously to drive transformation in different sectors depend solely on the leadership opportunities available to the youths devoid of ethnicity and religious sentiment. The calls has been shifted to capacity, courage and charisma. Leveraging on the youths inclusiveness in government ushered in by His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, is germane and will go a long way mitigating errors on the path of leadership in the State.

The aspiration of younger people is inline with _”Africa Union Agenda 2063, tagged *”The Africa we want”* in it’s framework of development for the young people to be carried along in governance, Dr Tunji Asaolu, Nigerian representative of AU- Economic, social and cultural council._ The administration of our mentor *GYB* has breached this gap and set the part of youth participation in governance.

The wave is gathering, awareness is becoming more evident, youths are wakening up to realizing more possibilities, we are not fully yet there but the journey has been made easy and rosy by our indefatigable Political Leader *Alh. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State,* who has since broken the jinx and we thrive on his path to victory.

Kogi State Government leadership has been taken over by the largest voters population, the youths since 2015. Any attempt to return us back to the days of insecurity, underdevelopment, chauvinism and ethnic jingoism shall be resisted in all forms.

_According to Nafula Faith Wafula, Vice Chairperson of the Commonwealth Youth Council in charge of Policy and Advocacy, in the interview she granted “Young people have energy, vision, solution, and we are very much willing to work together to make a difference on this planet. We have learnt a lot in the leadership training, especially the power of networking. It has been interesting to see just how exactly we can all work together to create maximum impact,”_

Talking about consolidation 2023, a solid training has been laid by our *leader and mentor, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello* we are ready to queue behind any of his lieutenants that will pilot the affairs of our dear State come 2024! In the new direction blueprint, the founder has unequivocally reaffirmed in several fora that his successor will be much younger than him and must have been tutored well. He will be charged to follow the 32 years master plan conceived by the new direction government which will turn the state to an industrialized State that will stand in the comity of states economically and otherwise.

Accessing the acceptance of all the 18 APC aspirants and whom the cap fits amongst the contenders? Only one has the command of crowd when compared to GYB, and he is a new breed politician who combines simplicity in his exalted position yet unassuming. He could be described as as an angel in human form.

In the forthcoming gubernatorial election, Kogi needs a youth who will be engaged in expanding the scope and depth of leadership activities by engaging non-sectional youth leaders in governance and highly focused on positive result. Youths are now active, informed and prepared about leadership. We are learning, exploring and examining under our grand master of modern Kogi *the white lion.*

The *GYB* effect within the last seven years has prepared youths to become leaders in a globally connected, multicultural, multireligious state like ours. As a result, *ASUKU* has over the years engaged in free medical outreach to the vulnerable citizens of the state, award of scholarship to intelligent students whose family lack financial muscle to sponsor them, payment of *JAMB, WAEC, SCHOOL FEES, and so on.* He has engaged in human capacity-building programs across the state. I wish to reiterate further, that the immediate Chief of Staff impact in the moulding of youths in the state is a clear example of his readiness to succeed his Boss come 2023!

We have no doubt in his capacity and ability of fair judgement in carrying out the day-to-day administration of our dear State come next year. We therefore call on our *party delegates* not to look at their immediate needs rather taking into cognisance the future of this generation and the generation yet unborn, kindly vote that aspirant who will build on the successes of GYB led administration in the state, and he is not any other person than *Chief Pharmacist Abdulkareem Muhammed Jamiu Asuku*.

In the light of the above, I wish to inform our youths to know that our latent potentials, fighting fuller expression, we must not cower, don’t be forsaken rather be courageous, be resolute the journey shall not be free of pitfalls, temptations and tribulations but with God almighty on our side victory is assured. _*Kogi APC TICKET 2023: The odds favour ASUKU!*_
